What is Bio-identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT)?
Bio-identical hormones, or natural hormones, are substances that have the same chemical structure as the hormones that your body produces. They create the same physiologic response. BHRT replaces hormones to normal “physiologic” levels that are not harmful to the body. Physiologic levels never exceed what your body has been accustomed to in your younger years. At Premier Care, we work closely with several state certified and FDA approved compounding to prepare a customized prescription based upon your individualized needs. We closely monitor your progress to ensure optimum results.
Who Benefits from BHRT?
Men and women, beyond their mid-30’s, who experience symptoms of fatigue, low energy, insomnia, anxiety, menopausal symptoms, hot flashes, loss of sex drive, depression, headaches, weight gain – all could benefit from our BHRT program.

How do I get started? What are the steps involved?
Getting started is simple.
STEP 1: Contact Us
Contact Premier Care to schedule an appointment. Call us at 970.927.8563.
STEP 2: Initial Evaluation Phase
The initial consultation consists of a detailed review of your medical history, risks factors for preventable diseases, a nutritional history, and a detailed review of your symptoms. We will perform a thorough medical exam. Finally, as dictated by this comprehensive evaluation, we will order a series of blood tests to discover your hormone levels, your metabolic function, your risks for heart disease and diabetes, potential thyroid disorders and possible vitamin and nutritional deficiencies.
STEP 3: Treatment and Management Phase
Once we have received and reviewed your laboratory results, we will meet with you to review them in detail and to discuss your anti-aging and hormone treatment plan. Depending on your individual needs, we will choose the appropriate bio-identical hormone preparation, which may come in the form of a pill, a cream or a time release tablet implanted discreetly under the skin. We at PremierCare insert these small hormone tablets for you in our office. The procedure takes 15 minutes, and results last from 4-6 months. This is a hassle-free way to deliver bio-identical hormones to men and women.
Close management is critical to your progress since everyone’s response is somewhat different. Consequently, we need to review new lab results after the first month of treatment and periodically (every three to six months) thereafter.
What are the costs of the Hormone Replacement Therapy Program?
The Initial Evaluation Phase includes the blood draw, a comprehensive examination, a nutrition consultation, and a two-week treatment planning visit to review lab results and make treatment recommendations. The cost of this Initial Evaluation Phase for patients already enrolled in the Preventive Medicine Program at Premier Care is $395. For patients only enrolling in the BHRT Program, the cost is $525.
The cost of lab studies can be paid at the time of the blood draw by the patient, or can be billed by the lab to your insurance company. Reimbursement and out-of-pocket costs to patients vary significantly when lab tests are billed through insurance companies. In order to reduce the cost of lab studies for our patients, Premier Care has negotiated significantly lower prices and therefore, savings are passed on to patients that pay for the labs themselves at the time of service.
The Treatment and Management Phase of the program includes all hormone related follow up visits, nutrition visits, phone calls, emails, blood draws and orders for prescription refills. It is recommended that all patients commit to a nutrition plan for optimal hormone balance and benefits. Patients may see our on-site nutritionist, Erika Smiddy. A monthly fee of $75 will be billed to patients enrolled in the BHRT Program. Patients who are already enrolled in the Preventative Medicine Program will not be billed an additional fee, as this is already included in their program package.
Medications will be billed to the patient or the patient’s insurance company by the pharmacy. Cost for hormone pellet insertions are $550.
